Culture of Myanmar

The culture of Myanmar (Burma) (Burmese: မြန်မာ့ယဉ်ကျေးမှု; MLCTS: /mranma yanykye:hmu/ ) has been heavily influenced by Buddhism. Burmese culture has also been influenced by its neighbours.

Since the dethronement of the Konbaung dynasty in the Third Anglo-Burmese War, British colonial rule and westernisation have influenced aspects of Burmese culture, including language and education.
