Chinese occupation of German Hankou
In 1895, in order to thank Germany for intervening in Liaoning against Japan, the Chinese government forced Japan to withdraw from the Liaodong Peninsula and they acquired the Treaty of Shimonoseki and allowed Germany to open a concession in China.
