    • The United Nations Human Rights Office says that more than 10,000 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022, though it expects the actual death toll to be "significantly higher". (Reuters)

    • Four Hamas members are killed by Israeli shelling in Tayr Harfa, Lebanon; the pro-Hezbollah Al Mayadeen television station says that two of its journalists and a civilian were also killed, shortly after the Israel Defense Forces said it struck several Hezbollah anti-tank missile squads in southern Lebanon and other sites in response to missile fire toward Metula in northern Israel.   • Congolese Foreign Minister Christophe Lutundula announces that the DRC has signed agreements for the complete withdrawal of the MONUSCO United Nations peacekeeping force. The UN has around 15,000 peacekeepers stationed in the Central African country. (AP)

  • Darfur campaign
    • The Rapid Support Forces seize the Sudanese Armed Forces 20th Infantry Division headquarters in Ed Daein, East Darfur, effectively capturing the city. (Sudan Tribune)
    • At least 40 civilians are killed and more than 50 others are injured when Sudanese army warplanes bomb the vicinity of the 20th Infantry Division in East Darfur. (Sudan Tribune)

• Cryptocurrency company Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao pleads guilty to money laundering in the United States. The company will pay $4.3 billion in fines and Zhao will step down as CEO. (Reuters)
