  • A 1-metre (3.3-foot) near-Earth asteroid is discovered before falling as a harmless bolide over central Ontario, Canada, at 08:27 UTC. It is the sixth asteroid to be discovered before impacting Earth. (CNN) (EarthSky)

  • After holding an impromptu online poll, Twitter owner Elon Musk restores the suspended account of former U.S. President Donald Trump. More than 15 million people voted in the poll, although Musk acknowledged many bots may also have voted. (The Guardian)
