The following requirements should be met, before an article is nominated:

The article must be rated at least B-class, but preferably GA, A or FA class. If it is a B-class article, it cannot have any outstanding improvement tags (neutrality, expansion, factual accuracy etc.) on it.
The article should have at least one free content (not fair use) image, which properly represents the subject.
Unless the article is an FA, it should be at least a mid-important article.

Selection Policy:
 
*The nomination with highest number of votes will be selected.
*If more than one nomination gets the equal highest number of votes, the older nomination
 will be selected.
*Failed nominations may be renominated for subsequent 3 consequtive months.
 If not selected by then, it may only be renominated after a 6 month gap.
*If there is no nominattion for a particular month, the oldest item from the archive,
 which has been repeated the least number of times, will be selected by default.
