Laksky District

Laksky District (Russian: Ла́кский райо́н; Lak: Лакрал кӏану) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the republic. The area of the district is 750 square kilometers (290 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kumukh. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 12,161, with the population of Kumukh accounting for 15.9% of that number.
