Karaikudi Municipal Corporation

Karaikudi City Municipal Corporation is the civic body governing city of Education Karaikudi in Tamilnadu state of India. It was the 22nd Municipal corporation in Tamilnadu established on 15 March 2024. It will be headed by a Mayor, who presides over a Deputy mayor and will be administrated by City Commissioner and now it has adjoined with surrouding areas like Kottaiyur town panchayat, Kandanur town panchayat and village panchayats that includes Koviloor, Ariyakudi, Iluppaikkudi, Sankarapuram and Managiri. The annual tax revenue of the corporation is expected to be 57.25 crore rupees. Karaikudi is one of the major educational cities and Tourist attractions in Tamilnadu and had a population of 181,851 as per 2011 census report with an area of 33.75 km².
