The song was co-written and co-produced by group member Beyoncé Knowles and Chad Elliott, with additional writing from Rufus Moore and production assistance from Jovonn Alexander. It was released as the fourth and final single from The Writing's on the Wall on July 14, 2000, by Columbia Records.
