Julián Javier

Manuel Julián Javier Liranzo (hoo-lee-AN hah-vee-ER; born August 9, 1936), is a Dominican former professional baseball second baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. He was nicknamed "Hoolie" by his teammates, and "the Phantom" by teammate Tim McCarver for his ability to avoid baserunners sliding into second base. He is the father of former big-leaguer Stan Javier.
