John H. Foster (physician)
John Herbert Foster (1796–1874) was an American physician, landowner, and early settler of Chicago who arrived in there in approximately 1835. He served as a member of both the Chicago Board of Education and the Illinois State Board of Education. He served as the president of the Chicago Board of Education in 1861 and 1862.
