Jirud, Tehran

Jirud (Persian: جيرود), also Romanized as Jīrūd, Jīrrūd, and Jīr Rūd, was a village in Rudbar-e Qasran Rural District of Rudbar-e Qasran District, Shemiranat County, Tehran province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 81 in 28 households. The following census in 2011 counted 109 people in 34 households.

After the census, the villages of Darband Sar, Darrud, Jirud, Sefidestan, Shemshak-e Bala, and Shemshak-e Pain merged to establish the city of Shemshak.
