James William Steffen (May 1, 1936 – April 23, 2015) was an American football defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. He was drafted in the thirteenth round of the 1959 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles.
