Jim Foster (basketball)

Jim Foster (born October 16, 1948) is a former American basketball coach who served as the head coach of the women's college basketball team at Chattanooga from 2013 to 2018. He has previously served as a head coach of the women's basketball team at St. Joseph's, Vanderbilt and Ohio State. He has been elected to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2013. On February 1, 2018, Foster notched his 900th career win as a head coach, becoming the eighth fastest to reach that mark and tying for seventh in all-time career wins. He announced his retirement in May 2018, after 40 years on the bench.
