Jean-François Rousseau

Jean-François Xavier Rousseau (16 October 1738, Isfahan, Iran - 12 May 1808, Aleppo) was a French diplomat and orientalist, nicknamed 'Rousseau of Persia' (Rousseau de Perse).

Not to be confused with Jean-François Rousset.
