Jamote People

The Jamote or Jamot people (Sindhi: ڄاموٽ) are a Sindhi ethnic community and a tribe of Sindhi Sammat people of Sindh and Balochistan. They are natives of Kachhi plain and Kalat regions of Balochistan and in Sindh they are long settled in Larkana and Shikarpur districts of Sindh. Jamote and Lasi together form the 4.56% of the total population of Sindhi people in Balochistan province as of 2017. As of 2011, the chief of the Jamotes was Syed Mohammed Ali Shah Jamote.

The terms Jamote and Jadgal are used for Sindhi (muslims only) people in Balochistan.
