James Metcalfe (rugby)

James D. Metcalfe (2 December 1873 – 12 July 1943) was an English rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1890s, 1900s and 1910s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Yorkshire, and at club level for Askam RUFC (now Askam ARLFC), Barnsley RUFC, and Featherstone RUFC, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Yorkshire, and at club level for Wakefield Trinity (Heritage № 62) (captain), as a fullback, i.e. number 1.
