J. Brent Walker
James Brent Walker (born September 13, 1950) is the former Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, a leading church-state advocacy group. He holds professional designations as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and an ordained Baptist minister. After retirement from the BJC, he served as Interim President of the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, Virginia, until the end of 2018.

Walker holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, a law degree from the Stetson University College of Law, and undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida. Walker received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in 2013. He was a Baptist minister in Falmouth, Kentucky, and taught law at Georgetown University Law Center. From 2003 to 2016, he served as an adjunct professor at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
