Ivan Gorbunov (pilot)
Ivan Mikhailovich Gorbunov (Russian: Иван Михайлович Горбунов; 25 May 1915 – 29 June 1953) was a Soviet flying ace awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union during World War II. He remained in the military after the war and went on to fly in the Korean War; however, he did not live to see the end of the war, having been shot down and gunned in his parachute by American fighters.
