István Tarlós
István Tarlós (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈiʃtvaːn ˈtɒrloːʃ]; 26 May 1948) is a Hungarian politician who served as the Mayor of Budapest from 2010 to 2019. He has also served as the mayor of the 3rd district of the city (Óbuda-Békásmegyer) between 1990 and 2006 as an independent candidate. Since 2006, he was the Chairman of the Fidesz–Christian Democratic People's Party (KDNP) Fraction-Alliance in the General Assembly of the Municipality of Budapest, and served as the political leader of the initiative "Social Referendum 2008".
