Iota Carinae (ι Carinae, abbreviated Iota Car, ι Car), officially named Aspidiske /ˌæspɪˈdɪsk/, is a star in the southern constellation of Carina. With an apparent visual magnitude of 2.2, it is one of the brighter stars in the night sky.
