Héctor Tizón (21 October 1929 – 30 July 2012) was an Argentine writer, journalist, lawyer, judge, and diplomat. He lived and worked from the ancestral home of his parents in Yala, a small rural town some 40 mi (64 km) north of San Salvador de Jujuy. Tizón served as the cultural attache in the Argentine Embassy in Mexico, and was forced into exile to Cercedilla in the Sierra de Guadarrama, west of Madrid, shortly after the military coup of 24 March 1976.
