Guðrún Ósvífrsdóttir
Guðrún Ósvífrsdóttir (Old Norse: [ˈɡuðˌruːn ˈoːsˌwiːvz̠sˌdoːtːez̠]; Modern Icelandic: Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir [ˈkvʏðˌruːn ˈousˌviːvʏr̥sˌtouhtɪr̥]; 10th century – 11th century), was an Icelandic woman who was famed for her great wisdom and beauty. She was married four times. She is the main protagonist of the Medieval Icelandic Laxdœla saga, which recounts the history of the People of Laxárdalur. It is widely thought that the saga represents some historical fact.
