Following her return to Earth, the now-adult Gertrude "Gert" is hired by "villainaire" William Wiggins both to retrieve his son from Fairyland, and "acquire" the planet for him to convert into a "theme planet", traversing through the Fairyland-adjacent hellscape "The Inferno" in order to find her way back. Bridged from Sadly Never After with Fluff the World, it is followed by the story arc Last Gert Standing.
The series has received a universally positive critical reception.
