Feijoada

Feijoada (Portuguese pronunciation: [fejʒuˈadɐ]) is a stew of beans with beef and pork. The name feijoada is derived from feijão, 'bean' in Portuguese. Varieties are prepared in the Portuguese-speaking world. The basic ingredients of feijoada are beans and fresh pork or beef. Beef is usual in halal and kosher varieties, which never include pork for religious reasons.

Feijoada is a common name given to dishes from Portuguese-speaking countries such as Portugal, Brazil, Angola, East Timor, Mozambique, and Macau, where it is made from a mixture of meat and white, black or red beans, usually accompanied by rice.
