Faustino Galicia

Faustino Galicia Chimalpopoca or Faustino Chimalpopoca(tl) Galicia (died 1877) was an indigenous Mexican lawyer, professor, translator, and administrator.

He was the most active scholar of the Nahuatl language of the 19th century. Chimalpopoca is a Nahuatl name usually translated as "smoking shield", also borne by the third Aztec ruler. Under the Second Mexican Empire, he was appointed as an advisor to the government.
