El Chal, Petén
El Chal is a municipality in the Guatemalan department of Petén, located approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of the departmental capital, Flores. Its name may derive from Itzaʼ chal, "shawl", or aj-chal ja, "clear water."
