Dzerzhinovo
Dzerzhinovo (Russian: Дзержиново; Polish: Dzierżynowo; Belarusian: Дзяржынава, romanized: Dzyarzhynava), officially known as the State Cultural Institution of the Dzerzhinovo Estate Museum (Russian: Государственное учреждение культуры «Музей-усадьба „Дзержиново“»), formerly Oziembłowo - was a small estate on the Usa River, spanning 180 acres (about 100 ha), including a nobleman's manor with a grange. Felix Dzerzhinsky, who founded and headed the Cheka, the first Soviet secret police, was born in the manor. It lies in the Stowbtsy District of the Minsk Region, about 3 km west of Petrilovich and 15 km from Ivyanets. The entire Dzerzhinovo complex was granted the status of a historical and cultural monument of Belarus.
