Durbanville has developed and grown rapidly during the past years into one of the most sought-after northern suburbs of Cape Town. Although gated communities such as Pinehurst Garden City, Graanendal and Clara Anna Fontein are on the rise, the town still retains its small-town atmosphere given that it is still mostly surrounded by farmland.
