Chitrakoot district

Chitrakoot district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India in the Bundelkhand region and Chitrakoot city is the district headquarters. Chitrakoot district is a part of Chitrakoot Division. The district occupies an area of 3,216 km2.The district has a population of 991,730 (2011 Census). As of 2011 it is the second least populated district of Uttar Pradesh (out of 75), after Mahoba.
