After the 2011 National Census, Qaleh Now Rural District was separated from Kahrizak District in the establishment of Qaleh Now District, which was divided into two rural districts.
At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 14,299 in 4,188 households. The most populous of its nine villages was Firuzabad, with 8,756 people.
