The club was founded in June 2022 as a replacement for the folded Extremadura UD, who disappeared due to serious financial problems, which resulted in them being expelled from the Primera RFEF. Although the club was supposed to take its place in the Segunda Federación, they failed in doing so and like every newly established club in Spain, they began life in the Segunda Extremeña.
It took them a season to get to level 6 by beating the likes of CF Piornal in the first promotion phase, and AD Hispanolusa in the final phase. This marked a first promotion in its first year of existence.
