Bistra, Maramureș
Bistra (Romanian: Bisztra; Ukrainian: Бистрий, romanized: Bystryi; Rusyn: Быстрый; Hungarian: Petrovabisztra; Yiddish: ביסטרא, romanized: Bistro) is a commune in Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. The Ukrainian border is located to the north of the commune. It is made up of three villages: Bistra (commune seat), Crasna Vișeului (Hungarian: Petrovakraszna; Rusyn: Красна Вишовська) and Valea Vișeului (Hungarian: Visóvölgy; Ukrainian: Вишiвска Дοлина; Rusyn: Вишовська Долина). The first documentary mention of the settlement dates to 1411.
