Bid'ah
In Islam, bid'ah (Arabic: بدعة, lit. 'innovation') refers to innovation in religious matters. Linguistically, the term means "innovation, novelty, heretical doctrine, heresy". Despite its common use in Muslim texts, the term is not found in the Qur'an.
