Axion (tribe)
The Axion (Atsayonck, Atsayongky, from Unami: "muddy creek") was a Native American tribe. It's a part of the indigenous people of Lenape that spoke the Unami language. the tribe settled in the Assiscunk Creek close to the Delaware River, in what is now known as Trenton, New Jersey.

In 1648 they were one of the largest tribes on the river, being estimated at 200 warriors. the name of the tribe might be a corruption of the name of the Assiscunk Creek, where they lived.
Axion were Unami (Wename), which means, "people down river".
