Avon River / Ōtākaro
The Avon River / Ōtākaro (/ˈeɪvən/ and /ˈɔːtɑːkɑːrɔː/) (Māori: [ɔːtaːkaɾɔ]) flows through the centre of the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, and out to an estuary, which it shares with the Ōpāwaho / Heathcote River, the Avon Heathcote Estuary / Ihutai.
