Asaduzzaman Mia

Asaduzzaman Mia, BPM (BAR), PPM, (born 14 August 1960) is a retired police officer who served as the 33rd Police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the longest serving commissioner and the incumbent chief executive officer of National Security Affairs Cell under the Cabinet Division. During his tenure as DMP Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police was considered to be at its peak.

During his term of nearly 5 years. Mia has been the figurehead in uprooting terrorism from the country. The blockades and hartals went down significantly and there were almost no cases of torching of vehicles or clashes. He was the most successful commissioner in terms of reduction of traffic and implementation of strict traffic laws following the 2018 road safety protests. Dhaka saw a curb in drug trafficking following a major crackdown during his term.
