Anthony Newman (born November 21, 1965) is a former American football safety for the National Football League (NFL). Newman played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1988 to 1994, New Orleans Saints from 1995 to 1997, and the Oakland Raiders from 1998 to 1999. He was drafted by the Rams in the second round of the 1988 NFL Draft. Out of high school he had the opportunity to play Major League Baseball, but chose instead to attend the University of Oregon.
