Anand Ashram
Anand Ashram (transl. Ashram of joy) is a 1977 Indian drama film directed and co-written by Shakti Samanta, based on a story by film director and novelist, Sailajananda Mukhopadhyay. It starred Ashok Kumar, Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles. This film has a Bengali version too with the same title released on the same day, Samanta has previously made another double version, Amanush (1975) with the same lead actors, however this film didn't do well at the box office. The same story was earlier filmed as 'Doctor' in 1940 starred by Pankaj Mullick, Jyoti Prakash, Ahindra Choudhuri, Bharati Devi.
