Ali Hamsa

Ali bin Hamsa (29 August 1955 – 21 April 2022) was a Malaysian civil servant who served as the 13th Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia from 24 June 2012 to 28 August 2018.

In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Hamsa is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name, Ali. The word "bin" or "binti"/"binte" means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
