At the 2006 census, its population was 2,797 in 606 households. The following census in 2011 counted 2,940 people in 752 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,179 people in 839 households.
There are documents show that this town back to sasanid or Neo-Persian Empire of ancient Iran. the Sorez Castle, Water Mill, Qanat and Aqueduct are famous.
