Aftar

Aftar (Persian: افتر) is a village in, and the capital of, Hafdar Rural District of Hafdar District, Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 914 in 220 households, when it was in the former Sorkheh District of Semnan County. The following census in 2011 counted 734 people in 218 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,222 people in 410 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sorkheh County.

After the census, the rural district was separated from the Central District in the establishment of Hafdar District, which was divided into two rural districts.
