After signing a publishing deal with Sandlot Records in 2021, Rae released her debut single, "Obsessed", which peaked at number ten on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The song was later included on Rae’s debut self-titled EP, AR, which debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.

She made her acting debut in the Netflix original film, He's All That (2021), a gender-swapped remake of the 1999 film She's All That. Rae also starred in the holiday themed slasher Thanksgiving (2023). She is also scheduled to have a leading role in Legendary's Animal Friends (2024).
