Abidin Abdul Rashid

Abidin bin Abdul Rashid (10 August 1939 – 22 November 2010) was a Bruneian nobleman and politician whom formerly served as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs from 1986 to 2002, and a member of the Privy Council.

In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Abdul Rashid is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name, Abidin. The word "bin" or "binti"/"binte" means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
