AGL also generates a small percentage of energy from renewable sources. It is, however, targeting 12 gigawatts of new renewable energy by 2035. It closed Liddell Power Station in 2023, but aims to close Bayswater Power Station in 2033, and Loy Yang A Power Station in 2035.
It is one of the "big three" retailers in the National Electricity Market.
