2023 Auckland shooting
On the morning of 20 July 2023, a mass shooting occurred at a building construction site in the central business district of Auckland. The shooter, 24-year-old Matu Tangi Matua Reid, killed two work colleagues with a shotgun, wounded seven other people, including a police officer, and then killed himself.
