On March 30, 2024, the Canucks clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2020, after the San Jose Sharks defeated the St. Louis Blues. The Canucks will also play a home playoff game at Rogers Arena for the first time since 2015. On April 16, 2024, the Canucks clinched the Pacific Division title for the first time in franchise history and their first franchise division title since the 2012–13 season; following a 4–1 win over the Calgary Flames in their last regular season home game.
