In January 2023, the Kraken became the first team in NHL history to win all seven games of a road trip. On April 6, the Kraken clinched a playoff spot for the first time in franchise history after a win over the Arizona Coyotes. On April 30, the Kraken won their inaugural playoff series in seven games, upsetting the defending champion Colorado Avalanche. In the Second Round, the Kraken lost to the Dallas Stars in seven games.
