Hingis won seven tournaments during the season, including a major at the Australian Open. She also won four Tier I events and finished runner-up at two other majors, the French Open and the US Open. Davenport won seven tournaments during the season, including a major at the Wimbledon Championships, as well as the WTA Tour Championships. | |
